Pablo Casals Robert Baldock
Drawing on research from four countries, and authorized by his family, this biography sets out to uncover the complexities of the life of the cellist Pablo Casals - the crises, the risks and sacrifices, and the sources of his musical inspiration. It discusses his three marriages (the last to a woman 60 years his junior), and his friendships with other great artists, composers, writers and statesmen. During the research for this book, the author collaborated in a BBC TV Omnibus documentary on Casals.
