Mosby's Color Atlas and Text of Dermatology Zusammenfassung

Mosby's Color Atlas and Text of Dermatology Robin Graham-Brown

High-quality clinical photos make this a comprehensive yet succinct overview of the dermatology perfect as a 'bedside' companion, a visual supplement to textbooks and as a stand-alone course of instruction. Organised into 15 sections, the opening section covers the basic structure and function of the skin. Section 2 describes diagnostic techniques, e.g. skin biopsy. Subsequent sections follow a classic pattern by describing dermatoses primarily by cause (e.g. infectious tumours) but also by morphology (e.g. Bullous Disorders) or body region (e.g. Hair and Nails) where appropriate. Also included is a chapter on 'Skin in Systemic Disease' provides a summary of the cutaneous manifestations of vascular disorders, diabetes, liver disorder, etc. Illustrations focuses on the clinical and pathological features of the appearance of the skin diseases described. Some electron micrographs and explanatory artworks supplement the clinical photos and clarify relevant causative agents and underlying pathology. The text gives a simple, succinct account of each disease, with brief discussion of cause, clinical presentation, differential diagnosis, investigations and principles of management.
