The Jersey Ron Palenski
This work explores the historical background of the All Blacks and the mystique that has grown around them. It examines what the jersey and, by association, the All Black status means to both players and public and even to opponents. Each chapter is accompanied by break-out vignettes quoting players on various aspects of All Blackdom - what it meant to them, how a few months (or even a few minutes) of fame in the All Black jersey shaped the rest of their lives, the sacrifices they made to be or to remain All Blacks, how they learned of their first selection or non-selection, and how devastated they were.
