Kipling was once at the top of the list of the world's great writers, she says, but now almost two generations have grown up knowing little or nothing of him. She cherishes the opportunity of introducing these people to a writer whom T.S.Eliot regarded as unique. M.M.Kaye grew up in India. She has written The Far Pavilions, Shadow of the Moon and Trade Wind. George Sharp won a special award at the 1984 World Fantasy Convention for illustrations to The High Kings.
