T.E.Lawrence is best known for his role in the 1916-18 Arab Revolt, recalled in David Lean's film "Lawrence of Arabia", starring Peter O'Toole and Alec Guinness, and for his bestselling books "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" and "The Mint". However, he was also one of the greatest letter writers of his time. Malcolm Brown's selection draws on collections from Britain and the United States, and includes for the first time many letters embargoed until recently by the Public Records Office.
