1825. No Edition Remarks. Unpaginated. Half bound brown leather with marbled paper-covered boards and gilt lettering to spine. Two volumes bound together; each paginated separately. Vol. I has 400 pages, and Vol. II has 144. Heavy splitting to upper spine end, with exposed binding. Contains black and white illustrations throughout. Pages are very visibly thumb-marked with heavy tanning foxing to endpapers and text block edges. Water staining to edges of pages until page 116. Dated ink inscriptions behind title pages. Further pencil and ink inscriptions to front free endpaper and scuffed paste-down. Notable cracked hinges and gutter with exposed binding. Binding remains firm. Boards have heavy shelf-wear with noticeable bumping to corners, heavy crushing to spine ends and considerate rub wear to surfaces. Boards have a slight forward lean and prominent bow. Heavily tanned overall.
