I have really struggled to review this book because it is forever being taken by one of the children to look through! I think it is fair to say that the children have found this engaging but simple tale of Mrs Bunn having a baby and how this affects the family an absolute delight and totally compelling to read again and again. Part of the excellent Usborne First Experiences series, this book, along with two other titles, has been reissued with stickers. The stickers are used in the story to replace words, so are excellent to use on a no-to-one basis (or as a group experience) to fully involve the child in the story from start to finish. In addition to the stickers, there is a duck hidden on each page for children to find, thus extending the book's life further. At just GBP3.99 this would make a charming gift or resource to use with any child expecting the arrival of a sibling. * Child Care *
The colourful and fun illustrations include a lot of additional details, which makes it easy to talk around the subject... I like the fact that there are also illustrations of mum feeding baby and the other siblings sitting around waiting and playing with their own toys, as it is probably going to be very hard to grasp that mum can't join in at all times after baby arrives. * Mummy in the City *
The stickers in this book include many baby essentials, which is useful for introducing children to new equipment they may suddenly start seeing around the house. * Mummy in the City *
There's absolutely no jealousy or sibling discontent in this First Experiences sticker book. Follow the story of a happy family as they prepare for the arrival of their new baby, as the baby is born and comes to meet its big brother and sister. There are word and picture stickers to place in blank spaces in the story, plus reward stickers and things to spot on each page of this cheery little book which helps familiarize children with the events surrounding a new arrival in the family. * The Cork Evening Echo *
