Boris Saves the Show Summary

Boris Saves the Show by Carrie Weston

Miss Cluck has some exciting news for her class. There is going to be an end-of-term show! All the animals rehearse tirelessly and soon the day of the show arrives. But then - disaster! - Miss Webb and her nursery class who should be coming to watch the show are stuck in the mud. How will the show go on? Boris has an idea. He dashes out (in his superhero costume), finds the stricken tractor, and heaves Miss Webb and her class out of the mud. With the tractor back on track, and Boris squeezed onto the trailer with the ducklings and frogs, Miss Webb makes it to Miss Cluck's class after all and the curtain rises on a wonderfully entertaining show. And, of course, Boris is the hero of the story, both on and off the stage!

About Carrie Weston

Carrie Weston was born in a village in Kent in 1966 - the year that England won the World Cup! Perhaps this explains her lifelong love of football. After doing her first degree at Warwick University, Carrie taught in schools in London for a few years before returning to Kent where she now lives with her husband, two children and various assortments of animals. She lectures at the University of East London in both Children's Literature and Special Educational Needs. Carrie's hobbies include skiing, surfing on Cornwall's North Coast and watching West Ham play football - not all at once though! Tim Warnes lives in the Dorset countryside with his wife and two young sons. Tim helps at the village school and his careful observations can be seen in all the authentic details of an infant classroom that he has included Boris Saves the Show and also in the way he has successfully captured the caring demeanour of Miss Cluck and the mannerisms of her little pupils. Tim is best known for illustrating the Little Tiger and Santa books for Little Tiger Press. I Don't want to have a Bath! won the Nottinghamshire Children's Book Award in 1997.
