This novel is a satire of American political life and a spoof political memoir. It tells the story of Ronald Reagan's refusal to hand over power to his successor on Inauguration Day and the trials and tribulations of Thomas Nelson Tucker as he tries to contend with the demands of his job. The author has also written Steaming to Bamboola: The World of a Tramp Freighter.
