About Colin B. Bailey

Colin B. Bailey is chief curator at the Frick Collection in New York City. He has most recently curated the exhibitions on Watteau and His World: French Drawing from 1700 1750 and Van Gogh's Iris: Masterpiece in Focus at the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, where he held the position of deputy director and chief curator. Mr. Bailey has written numerous books on art and artists, among them Jean Baptiste Greuze, Renoir's Portraits: Impressions of an Age, The Loves of the Gods: Mythological Painting from Watteau to David and Masterpieces of Impressionism and Post Impressionism. Peter Vergo, Emily Braun, Jane Kallir, and Marian Bisanz-Prakken are preeminent and respected figures in the world of art history with more than 50 books among them.
