Exploring Seaside Towns by Danielle Sensier
To encourage children to compare and contrast their own type of locality with seaside towns, this book uses activities, geographical tools such as mapwork and fieldwork, and examining of secondary sources of evidence. It is part of a series which identifies a type of settlement, and provides children living in a similar settlement with information on how to find out about their surrounding area. This book shows how seaside towns have formed, and how communities have developed there, and people who live in seaside towns are met through their comments and case studies. It also describes the effects of tourism, and what it means to live and work in a seaside town in the UK out of the tourist season.
