Pi charts the efforts of mathematical genius Max Cohen to identify certain numerical patterns which, he believes, will explain the workings of the universe. He is pursued by an aggressive Wall Street firm set on financial domination, as well as a Kabblah sect convinced that Max holds the key to the secrets behind their ancient holy texts.
