Psalm 23 is the psalm people are most often likely to be able to recite, even if they are not religious. It is frequently sung at funerals, and, it can be a source of great comfort in times of grief or fear. But, as Dave Tomlinson writes, 'it is really a song of life, which teaches about the nature of faith in every situation'.
