Since the early 1980s David Burton, a cookery writer, has written a fortnightly food column for two major metropolitan daily newspapers in New Zealand. These articles - short essays and recipes from his regular travels in the East - are collected in this book, which also includes chapters on equipment, techniques and ingredients used in Asian cuisine. Burton also wrote "The Raj at Table".
