An exploration of the Impressionist movement that began in France in the latter half of the 19th century. Illustrated throughout, the book studies the works of Monet, Degas, Sisley, Pissaro, Berthe Morisot and Mary Cassett among others, and the influences upon them. The chapters are thematically arranged to show the common and varying approaches of the artists within settings as diverse as train stations to rural ponds.
