Summary

In 1979 Karen Mayhill saves the day by upending a waste-paper basket over the head of her mystery lover. Sixteen years later she needs hot young advertsing executive Duncan Cairns to keep her business afloat. Only no one's told him the story of Basket Case.

Basket Case Summary

Basket Case by Douglas Chirnside

Duncan Cairns, supremely organised Account Director for the chaotic, stuck-in-the-seventies advertising firm of Clancey & Bennett, is so contented with his matt black office equipment and his company BMW that he's never really thought of doing anything else. Until he gets a call from Karen Myhill, head of an independent TV production company. Karen wants Duncan's creativity, and Duncan's tempted. What he doesn't realise is that Karen's son is the product of a union with a man known only as Basket Case - for the wastepaper basket shoved over his head by Karen when interrupted in flagrante. In the close-knit world of the media, this could cause all sorts of problems...
