A strategic framework approach for evaluating sustainable land management is outlined in this report. The framework has been developed to guide analysis of land use sustainability and comprises a series of scientifically-tested steps connecting all aspects of land use. Economic, environmental and social factors all collectively determine whether the form of land management is sustainable or will lead to sustainability. The logical pathway approach described here will allow the practitioner to evaluate the likelihood of a particular form of management being sustainable in the long term.
