How to Teach Kids to Cook Summary

How to Teach Kids to Cook: (With Dad, Mum and Grandma) by Gabriel Gate

Forget the mess and all those excuses that having kids in your kitchen is more trouble than it's worth. Why not educate tomorrow's healthy eaters by teaching them all you know about food while helping them to become independent, confident cooks. With 60 family recipes, colourful food photographs, good safety advice and lots of practical tips, this book is for every child's parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or grown-up friend. The author urges adults to think of it as an investment in the future: if you start involving kids in food preparation when they're toddlers, they will be cooking dinner for you before they leave home!

About Gabriel Gate

Gabriel Gate is Australia's favourite French accent, loved for his delicious recipes and sound advice. Born in France, he trained and worked as a chef in some of his homeland's best restaurants before moving to Australia in 1977. He is the author of 18 cookbooks, bringing us bestsellers such as 'Good Food For Men' and 'Weekend on a plate'. In 2001, 'The Chocolate Lovers' won the Gourmand World Cookbook Award for the best children's cookbook. He is currently working on 'Gabriel Gate's Guide to Everyday Cooking' to be published by Allen & Unwin in April 2003. Gabriel can be heard regularly on ABC radio and often appears on Bert Newton's show on Ten.
