The contents are organised into two main chapters - the first looks at the theory of the subject and teaches techniques; the second, Practical Exercises, puts these into practice through step-by-step examples and mini exercises. A specially created Practice Page allows the reader to consolidate skills learnt in the first chapter, before moving on to complete the main projects.

Landscape Painting takes you through subjects such as painting the sky and clouds, using texture and incorporating light.
Interspersed throughout are Notes on Effects which focus on the technical aspects used in the painting projects.
