Comments: The front cover shows a list of some of the features of this new publication and also includes a logo with the words: 'Mapping sourced from Ordnance Survey'. On the back cover is the key map and a coloured circular symbol which features our web site address. This publication extends from the centre of Southampton to Rownhams and Southampton International Airport to the north, Hedge End and Sarisbury to the east, Netley and Hythe Pier to the south and Totton to the west. There is a large scale city centre inset map (6.66 inches to 1 mile) of Southampton. The reference panel which is to the bottom left of the mapping shows a new colour scheme that depicts important buildings with different colour infills e.g. educational establishments have an orange infill and hospitals and hospices have a green infill. Roads that have restricted access are shown with a purple infill and pedestrianized roads have a pink infill. Fire Stations and Post Offices are shown by red squares and stars respectively, while Police Stations are represented by a blue triangle. Parking symbols are shown in blue. The scale is shown in metric as well as imperial. The street index is printed on the reverse of the sheet and features selected places of interest which are highlighted in red type.
