Unknown Pleasures by George Eaton
Joshua Winter returns to England from Canada where he has been living since his father disappeared ten years earlier. He is meant to be taking up a job with a big London law firm but instead is seduced by the hedonism the city provokes in him and drifts. He falls into working for a sinister entrepreneur, Dundee, who orders Joshua to put the frighteners on a late paying customer, who dies as a result. So begins a trail of murder and deception - but is Joshua really being set up? Unknown Pleasures is at once a highly evocative portrait of London and an unsettling psychological drama.
