Jem Vanston (who also publishes as PJ Vanston) was born and brought up in Dartford, Kent. He now lives in Swansea with his two rescue cats, Honey and Bumble. The Nine Lives of Summer was written for both children and adult readers, and particularly cat lovers, though the story's message is universal. It is his tenth published book.
