This book is the latest in the line of albums commemorating the photographic work of RCTS members. It covers his railway photographic journey from his days at university to working as an engineering consultant which allowed him to travel all over the network for business in addition to family holidays and expeditions as a railway enthusiast.

The album is presented in landscape mode mostly with one picture per page to do full justice to John's work, and all in glorious colour. Each image is supported by extensive captions covering the image, not only of the train but also of the locality. It is arranged in 20 themes depicting trains working on everything from China Clay to Coal, Timber and Nuclear, an industry in which John spent many years. There is also a section on Wrexham where John spent much of his life
