This volume is an introduction for 4-7 year olds to a range of poetic styles, including poems with patterned and predictable rhyming language that are easy to remember; poems with a regular, repetitive structure that can be used as models for children's own writing; chants, action rhymes, and lullabies which can be learnt and performed; poems from different cultures; and poems on similar themes for comparison.
