About John Nicholson

John Nicholson is an ex-architect turned author and illustrator of children's books. His particular interests are history, architecture and all kinds of invention, design and construction. He lives in the bush, not far from Melbourne. Many of his books have been shortlisted in the Children's Book Council Book of the Year Awards and three of them, A Home among the Gum Trees, The First Fleet and Fishing for Islands have won the Eve Pownall Award for Information Books.
