The Moon: Myth and Image by Jules Cashford
An exploration of the myths, symbols and poetic images which have been inspired by the moon, from the earliest Paleolithic markings on horn and bone, down to the crafted poems of the present. A study in the history of ideas, the aim is not only to discover the ways in which the stories of the moon have contributed to the way we think, but also to look at what these myths and images disclose about human consciousness.
