This study of self is a growing concern within psychology, and related disciplines, particularly in social and clinical psychology, psychiatry and personality studies. The growth of interest in identity and self concept, and their implications for emotional processes, cognition, social behaviour and psychological disorder, are reflected in the major sections of this volume.
