Providing a broad overview of the evolution, structure and function of the vertebrate body, this text describes the anatomy of the major structural and behavioural groups of vertebrate animals, including morphological differences, adaptation and embryology. Illustrations used throughout the text have been selected as to the variety of material and representative nature, and increased emphasis on evolution using cladistic methodological examples is included.
