A must for first year students of Architecture. * Jay Potts, Southampton University, UK (first edition) *
An attractive introduction to the world of architecture and what is required of an architect... very good for those at school considering a career choice in architecture. It is also a good general overview of thinking across the whole field of architecture. The graphic design is attractive and the images well chosen. * John Napier, University of Lincoln, UK (first edition) *
I think you have pitched these books just right: clear layout; accessible language; good photography; contemporary precedent that the student will relate to and the communication of the design process from inception to final communication. * Russell Gagg, Arts University College Bournemouth, UK (first edition) *
Very good value. This book is exactly what is needed as a first year Architectural and Interior Design students' course book. We have already put it on the year book list. * Mary Weguelin, University of Portsmouth, UK (first edition) *
An excellent book which clearly takes you through the fundamentals of architecture; pointing out elements of architectural interest, key precedent studies and names worth researching further. The book is laid out in a pleasing manner and shows interesting drawings, sketches and quotes. A great book to recommend for any student looking to learn the basics of architectural design as a supplement to their lectures. * Sonia Nicolson, The Arts University College at Bournemouth, UK (second edition) *
The book is very useful as a guide to the discipline in introductory lectures and for general awareness. Good examples of graphics and clear text which are used very well within the book. * Fidel Meraz, University Campus Suffolk, UK *
