The Role of Local Government in Education by S. Ranson
This book examines the changing role and structure of local government in education. The book argues for the continued role of the LEA in the education service. It examines the differing ways LEA's have responded to the 1988 Education Reform Act. It identifies the common roles they have developed in the new management of education and suggests some tasks that are inevitably dependant on the contribution of local government to education.
