Sarah Grazebrook trained as an actress, worked at the Old Vic and appeared in The Brothers and The Onedin Line, among other television programmes. She wrote her first novel, Not Waving, which won the Cosmopolitan Fiction award, after having her second child. She lives in Kent with her partner, the naval crime fiction writer David Donachie, and their two children.
