Sharon Finmark covers the basics of drawing, sharing advice on texture, pattern and form. She shows how to achieve light and shade, solidity of form and how to add simple perspective to your compositions. There is an introduction to working with different drawing media including pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, coloured pencils and watercolour.

About Sharon Finmark

Sharon Finmark trained at St Martin's College of Art and currently teaches drawing and painting and the history of colour in contemporary art at the City Lit College in London. She writes for The Artist magazine and has had three books published by HarperCollins. Sharon has been artist-in-residence at Radio 4's Today programme and has sketched backstage at The National Theatre.
