The sections on peptides, local hormones, and the cardiovascular system have been expanded, there are new descriptions of drug receptors and drugs affecting the nervous system. Each chapter includes a general account of drug action for each system, and gives notes on the major drugs. The emphasis on chemical structure has been retained.
