The fourth edition of Trevor Hartley's introduction to the legal framework and institutions of the European Community. It has been revised to take account of major changes in the Community since 1994, including the addition of three new member states and the Treaty of Amsterdam. Besides being a standard text for undergraduate law students studying EC law, it has also acquired a reputation among practitioners, for whom it remains a source of reference as well as an introduction to the principal elements of Community law.
