Previous owner's inscription in pen to front free endpaper. Illustrations are lightly tanned with mild foxing. Visible thumb-marking with minor brown marks throughout. Text is not affected. Uneven text block edges with minor creases and tears. Boards have moderate edge wear with corner bumping. Visible tanning to spine and edges with heavy crushing to spine ends. Gilt lettering is darkened. Small area of loss to spine ends, with splits and fraying. Water staining to bottom edge of front board, with some marks to rear. Book is slightly bowed and forward leaning.
