Copyright page states 'Fifth Edition, June 1906' but title page is dated 1908. Minor thumb marking, foxing and noticeable tanning to pages and plates. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Moderate cracking to front hinge, exposing netting and causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Slight tearing to front pastedown. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with prominent splitting, fraying and crushing to ends; large hole to top edge is very noticeable. Lettering remains bright and clear. Slight denting to front board.
