1938. First English Edition. 284 pages. No dust jacket. Black cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Inscription to front endpaper. Pages are moderately tanned and thumbed at the edges, with moderate foxing. Binding has remained firm. Foxing and tanning more noticeable towards the start and end of the book and on text block edges. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed with some fraying to head. Gilt is dulled and worn. Tanning and fading to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a slight forward lean. Pale water marks to boards and, to a lesser extent, spine.
