Contains black and white illustrated frontispiece, with other illustrations throughout. Very shaky binding, with loose boards, due to cracked hinges; all pages remain attached. Pages are mildly tanned and foxed, but text remains clear. Noticeable marking to some pages throughout; text is not obscured. Inscriptions to half title page and page opposite. Boards have moderate shelf-wear, with noticeable corner bumping and some scuffing to edges. Spine ends are slightly crushed. Gilt remains bright. Light rubbing and scuffing overall. Book has a slight forward lean.
