1869. Author's Edition. 623 pages. Half bound black leather with black cloth covered boards. Pages are lightly tanned and foxed throughout, heavier to endpapers and pastedowns. Cracking to gutters of a few pages with exposed binding. Occasional thumb-marking present. Stamped mark to front free endpaper. Cracking to hinges with exposed binding. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Leather peeling to spine and corners, with noticeable scuffing and scratches overall. Stained marking to front board.
