With the break up of her marriage and the death of her daughter, Hilary Craven flees England and escapes to Casablanca - with the intention of taking her own life. However, fate intervenes in the shape of Mr Jessop who enlists Hilary's help to find out why some of the world's top scientists, physicists and chemists have disappeared without trace.
