If you can recall the golden era of motorcycle sport then this is undoubtedly the book for you. Featuring sixteen scramblers and one and six days trials stars, this is a must read for all who lined the circuits on muddy Sundays and were glued to their TV sets on Winter afternoons. Author Andy Westlake is regarded as one of the UK's leading classic motorcycle journalists and this book is the perfect follow-up to his two previous books Off Road Giants volumes one and two. In this third volume Andy has once again managed to track down and interview some of the stars of this golden era in off road sport, including the former works Greeves rider and 250cc European champion Dave Bickers, ex works BSA star John Banks, and has even journeyed to Spain to interview Les Archer, the man who lifted the European 500cc crown on his works Norton in the mid 'fifties. A superbly written book brought alive by many excellent period photographs.

really interesting reading ... filled with often little known anecdotes and ... plentiful photographs Motor Cycling Club (MCC) a must read for all who lined the circuits and trails on muddy Sundays and were glued to their TV sets on Saturday winter afternoons when the event was televised on BBC Grandstand. The interviews are well crafted and Westlake's own enthusiasm for the subject comes through as he recounts the riders past glories, as well as bringing their stories up to date ... well worth the asking price. About Andrew Westlake

After nearly forty years of riding motorbikes, Andy Westlake is one of the UK's leading motorcycle magazine journalists. He contributes to leading monthly magazines such as The Classic Motorcycle, Classic Dirt Bike and Motorcycle Sport and Leisure in the UK, and also classic and off-road magazines in France, the USA, and Australia. He attended his first motorcycle sports event as an eight year old in 1961, and it is the bikes and people of that era that he writes so passionately about. He has competed with great success in classic long distance trials, and as recently as 2006 won a gold medal in the Lands End trial on his Cheney Triumph. Andy has also toured extensively on Guzzi twins, including a coast-to-coast trip across the USA.
