These are the latest publications in this series of small format handbooks which offer something completely new in works of reference. They combine the usefulness of a dictionary (straightforward succinct definitions) with the flexibility of a thesaurus (entries grouped by topic and cross-referenced). They will be useful in finding the meaning of a word, finding related words, revising a particular subject area, finding out more about a word whose meaning is unknown and finding a word to fit a meaning. There are detailed annotations, useful reference tables, a glossary, a systematic scheme of cross-referencing and a comprehensive index.
