Brief Collaborative Therapy Summary

Brief Collaborative Therapy: A Practical Guide for Practitioners by Bonnie Rudolph

Approximately 70% of all Americans receive health services through some form of managed care. Patients who seek psychotherapy through their managed care provider can usually expect only about half a dozen therapy sessions to be covered by their healthcare plans. This increasingly common constraint calls for models of psychotherapy that combine effectiveness and brevity and that are easily adaptable to an eclectic group of clients. In Brief Collaborative Therapy, Dr. Bonnie Rudolph offers a practical model of time-limited therapy that brings together recent theoretical advances and empirical findings on effective brief therapy techniques. The model's focus on measurable goals makes it compatible with the policies of managed care providers, and practitioners will find the model comfortable to use and responsive to diverse client groups.
