It provides a basic understanding of what a retreat is, outlines how to set about organizing a timetable, offers a simple vegetarian recipe for each day and gives suggestions for spiritual and physical exercises. Illustrated with calligraphy and line drawings, the main part of the book consists of a week's biblical and meditative material for use each morning and evening. Each theme is taken from the natural world. The author relates these everyday images to our spiritual pilgrimage of prayer and service. Brother Ramon studied theology at Cardiff, Zurich and Edinburgh and is a member of the Anglican Society of St Francis. He was Guardian of Glasshampton Monastery until his recent departure to explore the hermit life.
