Published to coincide with Christian Aid Week, this new collection of worship material focuses on the most basic of human tasks: the production and distribution of food. It is an issue with many spiritual resonances as through it we demonstrate our attitude to creation and to our brothers and sisters throughout the world. Prayers and readings from Christian Aid and from writers around the world celebrate the goodness of creation and the miracle of growth, as well as reflecting on the human toil that is involved. Many suffer because their land is despoiled, they are locked out of the systems that determine prices for their goods or because the pursuit of greater profits means that traditional farming wisdom is increasingly discounted.
