From Oslo to Iraq Summary

From Oslo to Iraq: And the Roadmap by Edward W. Said

The essays in "From Oslo to Iraq and the Roadmap" were written between the end of 2000 and early 2003. They offer Edward Said's commentary on the deepening crisis in the Middle East: pre 9/11, to the bombing of the World Trade Center, through to Afghanistan and the early days of the war in Iraq. This collection is filled with the eloquence, anger and the immense humanity for which Said was so loved and admired. Urgent, thought-provoking and troubling, it gives us a valuable perspective of the events of the last few years.

From Oslo to Iraq Reviews

'The most eloquent defender of an occupied people and the most irascible attacker of its corrupt leadership.' Robert Fisk 'He was a guide and an example. In the most private conversation, as well as in public, he was always human, always fair, always inclusive.' Ahdaf Soueif 'These searing essays refract the reality of terrible years through a mind with extraordinary understanding, compassion, insight and deep knowledge. They are an invaluable contribution by a truly remarkable person, in his life and work.' Noam Chomsky
