An important project facing both the individual and society is the development of emotional literacy. Just as human beings learn to read, so we can become literate about our emotions. The choice is between learning to live with our emotions or allowing them to run, and in some cases ruin, our lives. This book facilitates such choices, helping the reader to: understand and distinguish between 15 major emotional states, from love to loneliness, depression to hope - and why we experience them; work with the roots and triggers which underlie each emotion; understand the rational and intelligent basis for emotion; move on and allow change (if desired) into their lives; and become their own emotional mentors.
