A Field Guide in Colour to Marshlands and Freshwater Birds, Eggs and Nests by Jiri Felix
This compact handbook describes 64 species of birds that inhabit inland waters, swamps, meadows near water and, in some cases, coastal birds as well. The introductory section acquaints the reader with the structure and physical features of birds and their way of life, also giving information on migration and the protection of waterfowl. Each description covers the feeding, nesting and mating habits of the bird and is accompanied by a colour illustration. Where the male and female of the species are different in appearance, both are shown. Eggs and nests are also depicted.
