Summary
When Antonio snatches his son and daughter from the school playground, they are obliging, having missed their father dreadfully. Then there is an exciting flight to Spain. But Maria knows how worried their mother must be, and soon the Spanish hills start to feel more like a prison than a home.

Joan Lingard was born in Edinburgh but grew up in Belfast. She has had a long and varied career in children's books, and was awarded the M.B.E. in 1998 for services to children's literature. She writes with equal success for teenagers, adults and the very young.
