Holy War Summary

Holy War by John Bunyan

The Holy War, first published in 1682, is an allegory of the capture of a human life (Mansoul) by Diabolus and its emancipation by Emmanuel. Thus in the siege of Mansoul the assault is carried out from Mount Gracious on one side and Mount Justice on the other, while Mount Hearken is constructed opposite the town's Eargate.
